Kin Advocacy
Kin Advocacy, a valued partner of ours for many years, required cost-effective solutions to streamline communication, standardise IT management, and enhance security across their offices both in Perth and regional WA. Our partnership has grown through several key initiatives, each tailored to address the unique challenges faced by Kin Advocacy’s operations.

Cloud-Based PBX for Communication
We began our journey by transitioning Kin Advocacy’s traditional phone system to a cloud-based 3CX PBX. This change enabled seamless communication between their Perth and regional WA offices, significantly reducing costs, and enhancing operational efficiency. The cloud solution provided Kin Advocacy with flexibility, scalability, and ensured reliable communication channels for their entire team.
Device Management with Microsoft Intune
To standardise and secure their IT environment, we migrated Kin Advocacy’s infrastructure to Microsoft Intune (also known as Microsoft Endpoint Manager). This migration allowed for the deployment of consistent device policies, creating a hybrid collaborative space that enhanced both productivity and security. Microsoft’s cloud capabilities enabled Kin Advocacy to maintain a uniform, secure approach to device management for teams in Perth and remote locations.
Recently, we conducted an Essential Eight Maturity Level audit to evaluate Kin Advocacy’s security practices against the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) standards. We delivered a comprehensive report to stakeholders, complete with a detailed roadmap to improve their security maturity and overall posture. Our support has helped Kin Advocacy build resilience against cyber threats and safeguard their clients’ sensitive data.
Implementation
- Cloud-Based PBX | We transitioned Kin Advocacy from a costly traditional phone system to a 3CX cloud-based PBX, providing seamless communication between offices, reducing overall costs, and increasing operational efficiency. This solution incorporated both traditional office deskphones and mobile softphones, enabling employees to communicate efficiently whether they were at their desks or on the go. The flexibility of using softphones on mobile devices allowed staff to stay connected, improve response times, and further reduce the costs associated with maintaining physical deskphones.
- Microsoft Intune Deployment | Using Microsoft Endpoint Manager, we standardised device policies and implemented a secure Standard Operating Environment (SOE) across all devices. This provided a consistent user experience, improved productivity, and ensured compliance with company security standards. Additionally, we direct ship devices that are Autopilot enabled, allowing for a seamless and simple setup at Kin Advocacy’s remote regional offices. This streamlined the onboarding process and reduced the time and resources needed for device configuration, ensuring that employees could be productive from day one.
- Essential Eight Audit and Roadmap | Our Essential Eight audit delivered actionable insights and a structured plan for improving Kin Advocacy’s cybersecurity practices, aligning them with ACSC’s recommended strategies for resilience. During the audit, we obtained excellent evidence to ensure a thorough understanding of their current security posture. This allowed us to create a detailed and comprehensive report, which was then delivered to the senior management. By presenting clear findings and recommendations, we provided Kin Advocacy’s leadership with the information needed to make informed decisions on their cybersecurity strategy.
Enhanced Communication and Reduced Costs
The transition to a cloud-based PBX significantly lowered communication expenses and ensured reliable connectivity across all locations.
Standardised Device Management and Improved Security
The migration to Microsoft Intune enabled consistent device setups, ensuring all systems met security standards and reducing the time required for new employee onboarding.
Improved Cybersecurity Posture
The Essential Eight audit provided Kin Advocacy with a clear path to enhance their security maturity, increase resilience against threats, and protect client data.
