Prestige Alarms
Prestige Alarms, a leading security solutions provider, partnered with IQPC many years ago when they needed help recovering from a critical server failure. Since then, our partnership has grown to include support of their internal IT systems and collaborating on network infrastructure for one of their large WA government councils. Together, we successfully implemented network solutions spanning over two dozen sites, including several mobile units.
- Server Recovery | Recover from a failed server to ensure operational continuity and restore critical services.
- Migration to SharePoint | Centralise data storage and improve remote access and collaboration across different locations.
- Migration to Microsoft 365 Business Premium | Establish a secure, compliant SOE to ensure consistent security across all devices and reduce management overhead.
- Network Infrastructure Collaboration | Establish a strong partnership to provide and manage the network infrastructure for a large government council, ensuring security and reliability.
- Network Design, Implementation, and Co-Management | Design, implement, and co-manage an extensive network spanning over two dozen remote sites, including mobile units, for optimal security and communication.
Server Recovery and Business Continuity
IQPC quickly mobilised their technical team to build and install a new server, recovering data from the failed server to ensure Prestige Alarms could return to full operational capacity with minimal downtime. Additionally, comprehensive business continuity and disaster recovery strategies were implemented to mitigate future risks and ensure rapid recovery in case of similar issues.
Migration to SharePoint for Enhanced Collaboration
IQPC migrated Prestige Alarms’ data to SharePoint, providing a centralised platform for secure data access and collaboration. This migration facilitated remote access for employees, improved document sharing, and streamlined teamwork across different locations.
Migrated to Microsoft 365 Business Premium
IQPC migrated Prestige Alarms to Microsoft 365 Business Premium to establish a secure, compliant Standard Operating Environment (SOE). This ensured consistent security protocols across all devices, improved management of IT resources, and reduced the overall Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for maintaining staff devices by simplifying updates and reducing manual intervention.
Network Infrastructure for Local Council
IQPC collaborated closely with Prestige Alarms to plan, implement, and manage a complex network infrastructure for a large Perth government council. This collaboration ensured that Prestige Alarms could meet the council’s growing needs while adhering to regulatory requirements and ensuring security.
Network Design and Co-Management
IQPC and Prestige Alarms worked together to design a scalable network, focusing on security and resiliency, that spanned dozens of local and remote sites, including mobile units. IQPC took the lead in network implementation and ensured smooth integration across all sites. Ongoing co-management between IQPC and Prestige Alarms ensured that the network infrastructure remains up to date, secure, and efficient.
Implementation
- Server Recovery and Proactive Backup | The failed server was restored swiftly by IQPC’s expert technicians, who built and installed a new server and recovered critical data. A robust backup solution was deployed to ensure that Prestige Alarms would be able to recover critical systems quickly in the event of future hardware issues. Comprehensive business continuity and disaster recovery strategies were also implemented to mitigate future risks.
- Migration to SharePoint | IQPC successfully migrated Prestige Alarms’ data to SharePoint, establishing a cloud-based, centralised platform that provided secure access and enhanced collaboration. The implementation process involved setting up customised access controls, configuring data migration tools, and training staff to adapt to the new collaborative environment. This migration enabled employees to access critical documents remotely, simplifying workflows and supporting effective teamwork across different locations. By centralising data and enhancing accessibility, this project helped streamline operations and improved productivity while ensuring that data remained secure and easy to manage.
- Migration to Microsoft 365 Business Premium | IQPC assisted Prestige Alarms through an easy transition from a traditional on-premises, domain-joined setup to a cloud-first office environment using Microsoft 365 Business Premium. This seamless migration ensured the establishment of a secure and compliant Standard Operating Environment (SOE), with consistent security policies across all staff devices. The streamlined management experience provided improved efficiency, reduced maintenance requirements, and enhanced productivity across the organisation.
- Council Network Design and Collaboration | The collaboration with Prestige Alarms focused on designing a comprehensive and futureproof network for the council. IQPC led multiple workshops with key stakeholders to thoroughly understand requirements and identify the best solutions to meet those needs. Together, we scoped and designed a network that prioritised security, resilience, and scalability. The resulting design included advanced security measures, redundancy to minimise downtime, and a scalable design that ensured the network grew with future demands.
- Multi-Site Network Implementation | IQPC utilised SD-WAN technology alongside Site-to-Site (S2S) VPN connections to create a secure, resilient network infrastructure spanning over 30 local and remote sites, including mobile units. This approach provided enhanced redundancy, optimised traffic management, and improved network resilience. Careful planning was undertaken to ensure minimal disruption to ongoing operations and seamless integration with existing IT systems.
Improved Security and Cost Efficiency
By migrating to Microsoft 365 Business Premium, Prestige Alarms benefitted from a secure, compliant SOE that reduced the management overhead of maintaining staff devices. The migration decreased Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) by simplifying the process of deploying updates and enforcing security protocols, ensuring both cost savings and increased efficiency.
Enhanced Collaboration and Remote Access
The migration to SharePoint significantly improved data sharing and remote access capabilities for Prestige Alarms. The centralised platform enabled teams to collaborate more effectively, regardless of location, reducing operational delays and ensuring that staff always had access to the most up-to-date documents and resources.
Minimised Downtime and Increased Resilience
The rapid recovery of the failed server ensured minimal downtime, allowing Prestige Alarms to continue delivering critical services without significant delays. The new proactive backup solution provided additional resilience against future outages.
Reliable Network Infrastructure
By working closely with the council, Prestige Alarms and IQPC delivered a reliable and secure network infrastructure that supports the council’s growing needs, ensuring consistent communication and monitoring across all sites.
Efficient Network Co-Management
The collaborative management of the network allowed Prestige Alarms to focus on their core business operations, while IQPC handled the technical aspects. This shared responsibility ensured that the network was always well-maintained, up-to-date, and capable of meeting new challenges as they arose.
Scalable Multi-Site Solution
The design and implementation of the network across multiple remote and mobile sites provided Prestige Alarms with a scalable solution capable of expanding to meet continuouos growth, ensuring effective communication and monitoring regardless of the location.
